Cheap camping holidays in Europe

Tent camping is perhaps the cheapest type of holiday you can possibly get, and especially so if you have your own gear because you can just pack it in the car and go. Pitches are cheap too but they vary according to the facilities offered by different campsites.

Camping holidays have become really popular in the Uk in the past few years and perhaps that has something to do with the cost of holidays abroad and the problems with the € Euro and the £ Sterling.

But camping holidays are still cheap if you go abroad with your own kit - probably the pitch costs are similar to here but in general you will find that the campsites are superior in France and the rest of Europe. Really the only extra you have is the cost of the ferry to France, and even that can be a reasonable price if you are prepared to sail at an unsocial hour some time midweek.

Camping becomes a tad dearer if you hire tents abroad which are assembled, ready and waiting for you to stay in for a week or two, but on the upside these tents normally have beds, kitchens, crocks etc, and a company we deal with also supply full bathrooms/showers/toilets in some of their more luxury tents. In fact, they are the only company we know who are geared up for the 2012 season with bathrooms in their tents!

Even so, these are still cheap when compared to the cost of mobile home/static caravan hire
