Argeles-Plage, Argeles-sur-Mer - we often confuse the two but the Plage bit is where the beach is, and the town is a short walk inland from there. This is one of the sunniest regions of the South of France
This is probably one of the most famous and most popular camping/mobile home holiday resorts in the whole of the Languedoc Roussillon region, indeed, it is the most important seaside resort of the French Catalan coastline, at the foot of the Albera Massif just where the Pyrenees plunge into the Mediterranean Sea and it lies just on the French side of the French/Spanish border just a short way from Perpignan, the largest city in that area.
Argeles is just about as west as you can get on the Mediterranean coast before the border with Spain and it stretches for nearly 10km along the coast - of that distance of course about 7 km is made up of lovely sandy beach, and all dominated by the Albera Massif in the background.
The beautiful sea here provides an ideal venue for a full range of water activities and sports including scuba diving, kayaking, dugout canoe, fishing trips, sailing, sports or simply relaxation on the beach on a lounger with a drink or an ice cream.
To cap it all, there are 12 hectares of pine forest behind the beach for walking, cycling or bird and red squirrel watching, and we think this region is truly a paradise on earth with hermitages, vineyards and olive trees, nature reserves and various differnt landscapes. Ideal in fact for camping and mobile home holidays.
