Details of Camping Château de Galinée are further down the page
St Cast, or to give the place its proper name, St Cast-le-Guildo, just about qualifies to be on the Cote d’Emeraude, or Emerald Coast of northern Brittany and about 20 KMs west of the old corsair city of St Malo where nearest ferry port is.
Some of the guide books say that St Cast is an “ideal stopover on the northern coast of Brittany” but we believe that it deserves more credibility than just being a stopover because this place has charm in abundance, a lovely mix of great sandy beaches and secret coves and a whole host of other attributes to suit camping holidaymakers of all ages.
This is a normally quiet little town of about 5,000 people is boosted to about 25,000 at the height of the camping holiday season, something which so obviously proves its popularity with both the British and French tourists, and you may be aware that it is a great favourite for school trips from England in the summertime.
St Cast has seven or eight good beaches, an excellent golf course, tennis, riding and sailing clubs which offer sailing courses for children, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and if you are into gambling there is a casino as well, in addition to well over 20 restaurants and cafes.
Walking is also good here and you can talk cliff tops walks on 18 kilometres of coastal paths which have unexpected views and breathtaking scenery.
